Marty's Thumbs

Here are my thumbs, plus a script. I changed some stuff from the script I gave Ellis--some for the better, some for the worse! Let us know what you think.

I should note that my "thumbs" (for all their rough-hewn spontaneity) took me roughly ten times longer than Ellis.

Comparing the two side by side (or crown-to-toe), yours look so much more manly. How could I use the word "rough-hewn" in reference to that grey spaghetti I'm splatterin' on this blog?!? You, Ellis Goodson, are the lumberjack axe-swinger on this project.

Well-hewn, sir!!

I really enjoyed looking at your take Marty because I'm close enough at this point that I know every panel and what is happening in the story.

My feeling is you should take these scans, Blow them up to where you can print them on your 8.5 by 11 printer and tape them together and light box them straight up.

You really improve the whole wreck scene. The most important mood moment.

It's all you Marty. I really can't see a point in penciling over your pencils.

I'll go back to my 3rd page of WAIT which I had given up on.

It really is fun to look at those. I right clicked saved all of them. We should start a commercial storyboard operation. We're ready.

El! You late-night blogger!

Glad you dig 'em--I feel the same way about yrs! I think my thumb-version of the story suffers from dropping the "drink for the dead guy" idea early on (originally bottom of page 3 in written script). I want to look more closely at how you handled that.

This is a good collaboration!

"I bet if you were to poll Tom Moon, he's like to see pure Marty."

Now Ellis, why would I want ham without eggs? Martin without Lewis? Ike without Tina? Laurel without Hardy? Fred without Ginger? Rocky without Bullwinkle? Romulus without Remus? Ben without Jerry? Pie without La Mode?

Goodson and Davis Forever!

"Romulus without Remus"!!!

We're working on it, baby.

I just watched the Romulus and Remus Italian film a couple of nights ago. Duel Of The Titans

Saw it when I was a 10 year old kid.
Held up pretty well.

But the only scene I remembered with total recall was someone kissing an arrow when a friend died and shooting it into the air.

So. I am going to move out the end of this month. They've worn me down.

And I'm in no position to bitch. It's all self destruction that could have been avoided with the measliest of job finding efforts.

Right now I'm thinking remote storage costs like you mentioned Marty.

Or just letting it all go except for the computers, TV and a few books.

I'll have to research that.

So anyway Marty. I'll be a little too topsy turvy to help on the strip.

But I am complimented you're going to study some of what I did in my little take.

Where are you going to move to Ellis? Back to Oklahoma?

MrGoodson2 said...

Probably OKlahoma Tom.

I thought about a roommate situation in Burbank. There's probably plenty of those.

I may float that idea in a couple of places.

If I go back to Oklahoma, I may actually get productive again.

Thinking of it as the home stretch of the unfocused art career.

Wally Wood panels that always work. I hit a few of them. Always worthwhile to review before you start breakinfg something down. Which I didn't do.

I'm still fighting. Bit of a death spiral.

But I've informed the lawyer that I need at least a half hour to consult with a lawyer of my own. Looking at their agreement and my situation.

I've contacted a lawyer. Hope they get back with me and will work for a a half hour for a 100 bucks or so.

Jeez, El, sorry to hear how dire things are on the home front. Hope you can get things resolved in a good way.

No big deal Marty. Like I told you when we hung out. Just whatever happens, roll with it.
