Art Of Up

Got the embed off of character design blog.
Title is a link back to that site which has a lot of recently added stuff I haven't seen.

Storyboards from UP, Monsters vs Aliens, etc.

UP caused the usual amount of game development burn out. Seen it so much etc I should be completely dulled to the experience. I still love everything about it.

Cork 30

Because I have no life, and because of Ellis' insatiable demand for black and white animal funnies, here is the next Cork alot sooner than expected!

I NEED to play Free Realms!!!

So far our game is doing pretty well. Here at SOE we are counting on this scene being played out in 100 million homes all over the world . Maybe she should be the new star of our next ad campaign. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM2sNTfFO0g

Remember This?

Shot sometime around the time we did our 'pencil test" night.
Title is a link to my "animation"
Ron's animation still blows me away. I'll post those at some point as well.
Buncake had a simple but technically impressive one. Did a tough camera move.

It's Coming ... Publisher's Dummy Almost Ready ...

Thanks to Rick Schmitz the cookbook has a cover ... and it might just end up being the one we go with ... you never know! Love the Creeples characters ... so much character in these characters. Replaced the fade in background, described by my editing partner, Jill as looking "a little drab, especially the muddy colored fade in the background, which makes me think of old or rotting food, rather than fresh, bright, ripe foods." Heh ... I can take a hint ... ;-)

Doodle I painted into

Had a little down time this morning and kept myself occupied with this

T Rex , DinosaurHunter

A comic strip from 95. No money involved. Don Chin Published it. Title is a link to my Blog where the entire 12 page thing can be seen. Some of the world's worst puns.

Trex, Dinosaur Hunter

A LOOOOONNNGGGG time ago. BlueSky software days. Caelum Studios. 1995 or earlier.

Don Chin channeled this assignment to me. It's never been published.

A search for the writer reveals a career of good writing since this script.

I marvel at the inking I managed to do on this strip. I'm not much of an inker and this is halfway competent.

Also of interest, it was lettered by Shel Dorf. Founder of the SanDiego ComiCon and letterer for Milton Caniff's Steve Canyon.

" Ctrl I " for instant inking

Those Tall Tale programs are something Buncake should give a listen to.
gocomics.com is like the farm league for universal syndicate.
Buncake should submit CORK. They pay.

Highly diverting.

Books I'm Checking Out

In trying to get better on some of my art / digital art, I've checked out some offerings from Ballistic Publishing (the title of this blurb takes you there). I like the Massive Black volume best ... approachable, and you see some of the M.B. members' personal works. d'Artiste has some step-by-step pieces showing how the pieces were designed and executed (but sometimes the steps are much more like leaps of faith). Exotique4 is just as its name suggests ... but I'm not sure I'll ever be this good (or dedicated ...).

Your thoughts: appreciated.

I've got an exercise ball

I'll take it out in the parking lot today and try this. Hope I get it right the first time.

Kirby Study Tonight

I did some scanning. I'm going to write a bit about Kirby style, then I'm going to draw a little. With my little cintiq.
Results tomorrow.

Ocular Takes Notes

Another Bus drawing... one of my Creeple characters taking notes on her observations of her fellow Creeple.
