Sketch for Tuesday

Here's a sketch I made of an actor from my favorite film for Halloween.

East of Eden. Raymond Massey.
or Arsenic and Old Lace. Boris Karloff.

It's very good Deane. Better likeness than my Anderson Cooper. I knew it was Raymond Massey the moment I looked at it. I had just watched him in Fountainhead.

And of course I know you're talking about Arsenic and Old Lace. You get the Boris Karloff reference.

Thanks Ellis.

Each time I look at the sketch it bothers me a little more. The left eye is all wrong and the nose looks a little off as well.

I've only seen Raymond Massey in Arsenic and Old Lace and The Scarlet Pimpernel. I would like to see more of his films.

As for Karloff, one can only wonder how this film would have turned out if the producers of the play had let him off to do the film.

Yes that line about looking like Boris Karloff gets a couple of clicks funnier if it is Boris Karloff.

I thought it was a Christopher Lee? As Frankenstein for the Hammer folks?

Very good Halloween-y image!
