Actually a fairly random doodle

I have never read the Doc Savage books, so at first I thought "Doc and Pat Savage" was a joke, something like "Darth and Garth Vader - Twin Brothers". But I googled her name and became educated. I guess the tradition of introducing a female version of your wildly popular pulp hero predates Superman/Supergirl. Hey, I also never knew that Kenneth Robeson was a pseudonym and that many authors wrote under that name for the publishing house. Hmm. That's kind of like finding out Betty Crocker's not real.

You dodged the 45 cent paperbacks with those great covers. You had more will power than me. Steranko was a great one for laying out the history of the Pulps. It was interesting that the Pulps had this rebirth for the BabyBoomers. All the depression era escapism recycled for kids in the 50s and 60s. I think I knew that there were a few Kenneth Robesons but I thik all the early stuff was a guy named Lester Dent. Which sounds like a psuedonym too.

Hooray for randomness. I know nothing of the Doc Savage history. Sorry for my lameness. I will go to Wikipedia now. Thanks Ellis for posting your drawings!!

I thought my sketch had started a firestorm of appreciative comments. It's just krayonzilla wasting bandwidth with sloppy posts
