Comic Con Next Week!

I don't know what there is to say about next week's Comic Con, but it just seems like we should have SOMETHING to say about it!

Comic Con. Pitches. Excitement. Con Flu. I miss it.

Does anyone in our small group have any post 1995 Con stories that involve meeting someone or getting information that panned our for them? My con experience has never been anything but the exhibition floor. (Not criticizing con, if one is prepared and can stomach introducing themselves to people, I am sure it works like a real convention, I just want to know if it has.)

If you're going to use Comic Con as a pitch moment, you have to have done groundwork.
Emails that tell people " I'll see you there." That sort of thing.
Be like Halloween to the guys that make their living on that season. Work all year long being readsy for it.
Have packages to give people, know who you want the packages to go to.

Artists would probably be better off concentrating on things like CTN.

I got some work after someone saw my souvenir book illustration. It was a comic book gig that didn't pay very much, but it was fun to do and kind of a neat way to be discovered. I was given a script and a page count and had pretty much free reign to do what I wanted as far as how to draw it all.

From the souvenir book? That's cool.
