Friday Film Frame: Spartacus (1960)

Caught the last few minutes of this and just had to sketch something. "You must debase yourself before Rome" (alas, not a quote from this scene).

Ellis, receveived my Goodson art and H.G. Welles' "Time Machine" comic--too bad Toth didn't make an effort to capture Rod Taylor's likeness--they needed Mort Drucker to handle the thing!

And you must keep us updated on your Ellis-y status--use the comments of this post to do so. Caring minds want to know!

Glad you got the ebay stuff. Thanks again. I can go into October with a little breather on the SS verdict. Actually had a couple of other ebay sales as well.

This is an killer sketch. Olivier has got some great touches in that head. Unless it's Charles Laughton. Then I'd say it wasn't so good.
Jean Simmons would be in a lot of trouble as a slave girl. I like her hair a lot.
Makes me want to see the movie. I'm mixing my movie history in my head. I thought this was taken away from Kubrick and Kirk finished it. IMDB shows the credit as Kubrick.
I know Brando took One Eyed Jacks from Kubrick. Or just moved in when Kubrick wanted out.

And great hands. Especially Larry's. Think I'll draw some hands today.

Hey, just now noticed the market potential of The Friday Film Frame. That could get some traffic. Draw it, review it, tweet it, America comes to see it. Your own micro niche Rotten Tomatoes.

I'd tell you how good your drawings are Marty but you are probably really tired of hearing that.
