The Gorgon Lives!

Finally just about got that Gorgon Redux image done. My only worry is the levels of the mid-to-foreground elements might be a wee bit dark. Or at least will probably print too dark. I was going for those deep crepuscular shadows with their sizzling edges (hence all the orange pencil under-drawing).

Did it all with my felt-tip markers and Photo Shop, mainly to marry the pieces together. But it took too long. I need to get to where I can just put one of these together on one page and scan it. Also, I failed to get as many "set-dressing" elements in as I'd hoped; Rick had made the excellent suggestion to include more debris on the stairs and ground, but I have trouble devising convincing fantasy detritus.

Any comments or criticisms are welcome!

Closer cropping? Figure more dominant maybe???
(Hope it's okay that I added this to your post Marty)

It's gorgeous Marty! I'm inclined to say that I'd like to see the figure dominate the page a little more. I think it might seem more heroic. I did a quick crop job, but you could also rearrange some of the background elements if you wanted more of those to show. Closer cropping makes negative space shapes more interesting too. What do others think?

Tommy! Yeah, I agree there's lots of room for cropping. I like what you did...I'll take the trimmer to it!

Beautiful beautiful. High rez the only way to look at it.

I like either as far as crop suggestions go. Tighetr does make it more about the hero. Pulled back makes it a fantasy concept with scene setting.
