Mostly sketches. Occasionally a painting. Nothing political other than caricatures reinforcing the truism "Politics is Show Business for Ugly People".
Very Cool face Ronnie.
Thanks, Jim. I commented on Facebook that the more I worked on it, the more it looked like a Don Post mask and that seems to be the best description of it.
That's funny....it does have a Don Post quality.
That's really great Ronnie. So were you trying to make it look like a monster-faced guy wearing a monster mask? You colored the eyes, nostrils and mouth flesh and the rest of the face green which makes it look like a guy wearing movie makeup. I always thought it looked funny when actors in the original Star Trek would have blue or green makeup on because it made their eyes look bloodshot pink by contrast, like they'd been crying recently.
Nice z-brush. I like the teeth a lot.
Did you do it all in z-brush or start with some other program for the basic model?Tom , all the special make-up that has to then fit regular humanity, always bumps you a little. Ridley Scott had to shoot around the humanity of Alien so much, after-wards my thought was "Wish I'd got a good look at the Alien."
I love that it's called a "Venger Helmet." Looks great! Congrats! That head would make a great Halloween mask, no doubt!
Thanks for the feedback, everybody. The mask-face-guy started out as me just playing around with 3DCoat's Live Clay tools. Just used a voxel sphere primitive and started doodling around. I did it all in 3DCoat which is a fun, unique program that has some similarities to Zbrush but can also do some unique things no other tool can do. Voxek modeling has some real advantages over polygonaly-based modeling approaches. And it's fast and fun.
As usual, using some program I've never heard of. Great work.
Ronnie. Your character is Lovecraftian enough to slightly hijack your thread for this. Lovecraft is missing. The link takes you to where I've read to. I recommend starting at the beginning. A slightly bent TinTin adventure.
Intriguing, Ellis. Reading the thing from the start will take some time. Looks like a long-running tale.
