Is this the Cloverfield Monster?

If so, it's interesting but not very iconic. Moby Crab. From what I gather this might have been one of the early concepts. Who knows. Expect to have the Sub Mariner riding atop.

Ellis, you should work up a fake concept sketch of the Cloverfield monster and post it on the internet. Put a bunch of authentic-looking production notes and scribbles and logos and stuff on it; a real high end couterfeit job. See if you can get it to go viral.

I was thinking the same game. I'm in too! Although if you do get enough hits it'll lead you right to this blog and the secret will be out. I saw these and didn't post them out of respect. You could have just posted a link with a "spoiler alert" y'know. :-P

Ya'll quit crying. You know damn well, this if it's legit it will be all out there for all world to see the week before the movie premiers. If this is the MONSTER. It's not that cool. Looks like every other video game critter thats been developed over the last 10 years. It ain't no GODZILLA.
Hell this is on YouTube already. No big secret.

I was kidding about ruining the movie. If they stay true to the shakey cam POV, you never will get a good stable look at anything. I guess the photographer might have the occasional, paralyzed in fear quiet moment as the creature moves in the distance. OK. I'm on it tonight. I think I'll be totally digital, No pencil.

Also the fact "The name "Godzilla" is a rough romanization of Gojira (ゴジラ, Gojira?), a combination of two Japanese words: gorira (ゴリラ, lit. "gorilla"?) and kujira (クジラ, lit. "whale"?). At one planning stage, the concept of "Gojira" was described as "a cross between a gorilla and a whale," Funny isn't, how original did JJ Abrams get if this is legit. Also you want to take it further. The so-call lice are right out of Rodan. "two Rodans were unearthed and awakened by mining operations in Kitamatsu along with a swarm of prehistoric insects called Meganulons. After devouring several people and reducing Sasebo to ruins."

Well, if this is the monster they've picked the most benign giant sea creature they could think of to base their monster off of.

I kind of like the maquette, but I can’t see that guy in a Hollywood giant monster movie.

The parasites have the ring of truth, though... it seems like all the giant monster movies these days need to have a "raptor" style threat that is on a more human scale. Even if these aren't true sketches of the monster, it's likely that there will be little monsters that can chase people inside building and into the sewers.
