Frazetta Facebook Group- Western Week

Also, I file save UFC sports photos that have great ripped anatomy.
Joe Rogan tweeted this photo- I have no idea who it is.
But I did my trick for Sean Phillips style noir effects.
Thought it might be interesting.

And how did you do the Sean Phillips trick?

1. Desaturate color photo

2. Use levels to make it as close to harsh black and white as possible with as little detail lass as you can juggle into being.

3, Go to 'channels', drag 'blue' channel into the dotted line selection circle.

4. Invert selection - (shift-ctrl- i)

5. Make a new layer

6. Go to paths- make work path of selection

7. Paths menu- select fill path with foreground color

At that point you could select the work path and give it a name or get rid of it if you don't need it any more. You could do several passes and create a variety of work paths. Make several layers and blend them with alpha masks. The detail is also controllable on work paths.

If I ever do a noir project, I'll use this technique.
