Marty Sketches to Prove He's Alive

Doodles (or should we call them "dawdles"?) based on a friend's were-monster story. His dad was named Biff Demmon...who was Biff Demmon? In the fantasy/comics universe, you might recognize the name as belonging to the nefarious hunter in Frazetta's best comics story, "WEREWOLF."

At the time his dad (the real "Biff" Demmon) was roommate to the writer, who ganked his moniker as a sort of inside joke...how cool is that? (And yes, I met his dad long ago when we were lads at school together....)

BONUS for Ellis: a Drew Friedman drawing of...Larry Storch (!!!)

That's a very cool bit of lineage on Werewolf. Amazing how Frazetta does one comic strip story for Warren and it's the all time classic. Energy, acting, composition. So your friend was friends with Larry Ivie. I believe he wrote the story. I'll check. Yep. Larry Ivie. I wish I still had my copies of Ivie's Monsters and Heroes. 500 Bucks!

He was a decent artist. Working in a Jeff Jones inspired type of style. Jeff Jones with a little too much anatomy and proportion skill rounded off.

And great work on the monster dawdles. That could be a comic book. That look.

Larry Ivie art. This is about it. He mostly wrote stories. I think he did one other monster-alien-crime story with a sort of Robert E Howard , pick up truck, Texas setting. No tone , just solid blacks.

So you ARE alive. Super-cool werewolf interpretation!

Storch was interviewed by Gilbert Gottfried. Drew Friedman was interviewed by Gilbert Gottfried.

Storch was interesting. Every movie that Tony Curtis made during a certain period, he tried to get a role for Storch. They were in the Navy together and Storch was encouraging to Curtis about a movie career.
