"Thompsonian Supper"

This post shows in startling clarity the un-imitatable nature of Ron's "Thompsonian Sketches."

Look how bad this looks compared to Ron's!

--and I really tried!

Ah, blessed artistic diversity.

(I figure posting pale imitations might provoke R.T. into sharing more of his work....)

Nice work on the burners

Good Ron imitation too.

Interesting exercise... however, I think your own style suits you better and Ron does his.

Did that sentence make sense?

Read backwards it does

@Rick--well, yes. I made the drawings purely to celebrate Ron and his presence on the blog.

And to prompt him toward more posts!

Glad to see you stuff popping up here, too.

Very nice still life sketch.

I wish I could handle a brush that way. Mr. Goodson 2 is correct: the burners are a marvel of gesture. I like the lumpy little dial and the sad egg flipper looking at the boiling pot, he feels a little left out of the dinnertime production. How would you've drawn this in your own style?
