Rubinstein's Gun Nose Roughs ...

I wanted to post something pre holidays. So I thought of Joe Rubinstein. He has finished rough pencils for his three page story in "Gun Nose Presents" and has embarked on turning them into finished pencils prior to inking 'em up. I thought I'd share the work at this stage 'cuz it's interesting to see such. The essence of TAG ... ;-) Joe Staton is working on his three-page segment, too, and I'm gathering visual concepts for my four-pager.

Happy holidays everyone!!

Wow! It's really coming together! Joe R. stuff is looking pretty cool.

GunNose is looking sort of like Doc Doom in that one panel.

These look great. I should have done mine as a whole on paper vs my piecemeal, compose it in photoshop method. But it's worked out well. I'll post what you'll be getting tomorrow. i want to do some more finish to page 2 of my part.

Beautiful roughs. What fun to see your own character brought to life by so many talented people.

Tom, one of these days I would love to follow your example and do the same kind of book utilizing others' talents for my own characters and concepts. Maybe we can get together sometime and you can enlighten me on the particulars of getting a project like this done.

Tom - that's actually how you get going on this kind of collaborative project; you ANNOUNCE it, and then you see who shows up to help out. It's the Tom Sawyer method.

Tom: now you see that the first step in working with industry professionals on your own project is to simply announce it. Now you've done that and you've got at least three people who will work with you.

it's the Tom Sawyer method.
