Drink and Draw Hellboy Sketch

Very lame monster. I'd be better off to just do a lot of erasure and turn it into Ben Grimm. Or a much better fire breathing monster. I'll think about it. This is what I produced at the end of the evening.

I did a different monster. Kinda Basil Wolverton. And I actually had the nerve to show it to Mike Mignola.

By the way, talking to Mike ( I call him Mike) I told him I had a copy of the character sheet that he sent to Buncake when he did Ghost and Hellboy. We discussed that is probably the FIRST time that anyone other than Mignola drew Hellboy for print. Buncake should be proud.

The bottom sketch was done directly with marker. After this one I left. I was starting to fade. I love the time bracket of 10pm till 1 am. But I do start to tire at the end.

Drink and Draw -Frazetta Tribute Night

I may have some fun in photoshop with this. One thing I'll change is make the female smaller. Can't have the female larger than the male. I drew this with lighting that was about the equivalent of a night light. Tough on the eyes. But I dig the crowd. People out did themselves with Frazetta as inspiration.

I'm going to turn it into a digital painting but I needed to change it. Still have a lot of edits to go but you can see the dramatic difference in flopping the male. I've enlarged him, made her smaller. I'm going to heal the sanke and background a bit, do some anatomy ( his , now, left leg)

I added the changes as they've shaped up. Changed  the female's center of gravity so it looks like she might be able to stay on her feet if the snake moves suddenly

I decided to sell the original on EBAY. Click headline to watch that develop.

I'm still posting 3 Nearsighted Comics cartoons a week at NearsightedComics.blogspot.com (click on the title of this post to see the site)!  Go check it out!  I seem to be keeping up with the pace without breaking a sweat, so I may be tempted to go 5 days a week.  I suppose it depends on whether or not people think the cartoons are actually funny at all.

More of my effort

It's sad  but not too surprising that this didn't get finished for tonights Channel 101 presentation. Very challenging to put out a 4 min animated short in three weeks with about 5 people max working on it. Not including voice talent, but that's it's own logistic challenge.

Revised Lip Sync- Purple Nurple

I can claim no credit for this improved version of the lip sync work. I was primarily an inker. The revision came back like this and I just did the line art and clean up.

More Flash

Click the Headline to see some more Flash from the project I'm working on. It has suggestive language. The Character Assfault, is trying to "seduce" the girl on the back of his motorcycle. They are being pursued by a shape shifting mass of Alien tentacles with teeth called Gigglers.

I did the art and the lip synch to this part which will be integrated with after effects into something that cuts from this shot to close ups of the characters.

I'm digging the Flash. I think I've mentioned that.

My effort on solo lip syncing so horrified MC that he sent back a document that basically I just inked over. So when you visit my site go to the main blog and see the final version. It's a LOT better than what I did. And hopefully stuck with me to some extent.

Doing a little FLASH

Helping someone animate a web short. Doing little pieces at a time. This took me about 6 hours! yeesh. I'm speeding up and getting faster. It's what I want to be doing. Using Flash to animate and tell stories with.

The black background is actually a default for the alpha. The character would have a strong outline if you imported the clip into after effects and turned off the alpha.

The title takes you to the youtube location. You have to click it about 5 times before you can see all of it play. It's maybe a second and a half long. Will probably be timed differently enough to play about  3 seconds
