NWCC high rez Me

The new Chuck Jones edition Blackwing pencils sing like the magic flute when a drawing is going right.

Tuesday Sketches

The color wheel is an arrangement you can import into photoshop. But it has to be the right window dimensions to show up properly. I decided to bring it into photoshop and leave it on a layer to do color picks.
The Unicorn is for a Make A Wish project.

Chuck Jones Edition Palomino Blackwing 602 Pencils – (12 Pack) $29.95?

You actually spent extra for this?

Someone owed me for giving them a couple of Blackwing pencils.Paid me back at this con.

I wouldn't pay the extra.

Unless it was for a good cause- like jihad or open borders or Hillary's campaign.

So you got the pink erasers

MrGoodson2 said...

What erases were on them when the guy gave them to me. Used the erasers up on one pencil at the free comic book day. They are good erasers.

Maybe the fact they use up quick is a sign of a good eraser. Doesn't smear because it is in constant disintegration.

JMG said...

Didn't say if they were good erasers....I said are they pink?

You look good in hi-def Ellis, and those must be some good pencils to inspire you to wax poetic like that! I tested them at one of the comic cons with an art supplies booth. They do feel good. I'm tempted to buy a couple to try out at home.

They look black gray. Try a few Tom. They've ruined me. I can't draw with anything else.

Then you don't have the Chuck Jones Edition Palomino Blackwing 602 Pencils. You just got the regular ones

I found two with pink erasers. They're the same pencil.

Jim, have you noticed comments awaiting moderation? Friend of yours?

I like your stocky unicorn. Reminds me of Tyrion Lannister.

Yeah, My Friend George....being a pest

Tyrion Lannister! That show could be called THE IMP- and everything else

Elz, the stuff looks really good.

Never got on with the Blackwings myself. I'm too heavy-handed to be using black. But I am glad you dig 'em--the results look great.

Jim, what are you on about? You are coming across like a pimento dropped in vinegar. No need for a fuss...esp'ly over pink erasers.

...and I know you have your color-perception challenges, El--and it is laudable that you are trying to do an end-run around them. But are you sure about this particular palette? I mean, most of the colors are right smack in the hottest neighborhoods of just about every hue. I'd have a heckuva time taming that group. It would take lots of graying and muting, never easy to do after-the-fact....Have you thought about grabbing a reduced palette from one of your fave Frazettas?

Just a thought.

p.s. you wrote somewhere recently about the death of the guy who was the inspiration for your hero "Rodney" (?) in yr blessed tome, "The Albino." (which I dug, BTW--some images are with me still!) I just wanted to say I was sorry to hear the news. I had a suspicion that character had come from someone real (but didn't want to insult you with such an insulting question--the point is you made him your own in the book)...but real sorry he died so young, with what sounded like so much unfulfilled potential. Hopefully not too destitute or depressed. No--"just the right amount" (comes the sassy reply).

You made a statement that you were using the Chuck Jones Edition pencils. Just pointing out you are incorrect if they have the black erasers. The Chuck Jones limited Edition is the only issues that have the pink erasers (Matching the "Original" look). Pencils are the same just the erasers are different as to identify them. Just saying.

MrGoodson2 said...

PINK!

MrGoodson2 said...

Mr Pink kinda knew Rodney. Rodney probably didn't die particularly tragically.
More like an accident of calculation about what his body could stand in the way of abuse.
Born at the wrong time.
His Dad was white and his mother was a mystery. He went on a cross country hitchhike to find her. And discovered she was committed in a mental home.

Good advice about the colors Marty.
