Sold out

The opera benefit at the Kensington Theater showing "A Night at the Opera" was sold out.

I'll stream it by myself then.

I like that png with the alpha. I viewed image and saw it. Great cartoon Montag.

The good old Ken theatre. Saw some great flicks there.
Eraserhead
Santa Sangre
Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer (with mixed reels)
First Jackie Chan movie (can't remember which)
4 hour movie on the Holocaust (Shoah?) maybe. And I think that was only half of it.
Rented some greater video tapes from next door. That guy was a movie lover.

I invited a boatload of people, but then stupidly waited too long to buy my own ticket ... so I missed out. :(
I think it would've been fun to go.

I like your sketch, Ben.

Your cartoon view of yourself is very funny Ben.

Ben! Sorry about the movie snafu--but the sketch is good fun!

And in positive news, looks like San Diego Opera will survive. Raised a bucket of money and are planning three operas for next season, one of which will be John Adams' "Nixon in China," (an obvious modern one) which I've always wanted to see.

We've been gone a lot this month (on trips as opposed to vacations)--sorry for my long absences here.

There's still too much hope and happiness in my cartoon rendering.

It was at the Ken that my inner misanthrope first came out. I was in San Diego just a few weeks and went to see the midnight Rocky Horror Picture Show. Before the show they had that ridiculous beach ball bouncing in the house through the crowd. I crouched down low to avoid it. Then the movie began and when people started with the water pistols I said I'm outta here. Hell if I'm gonna get squirted while trying to watch a movie.

Have fun cartooning Nixon next year.

I'm a pretty big John Adams fan but I've never seen Nixon in China. That might be worth a trip... and I will be finding myself in Southern Ca more often now with Denise going to Cal Tech in the Fall. :)
