Do you wanna work grocery?

So I had an interview at Jimbo's. I was asked whether I could lift 50 lbs. I said sure. After the interview I went to the Ralph's nearby and put 50 lbs of dog food on the ground to see whether I could lift that amount over my head.

What's Jimbo's?

And you hurt your back?

Jimbo's is a small chain of natural foods groceries located in Carlsbad, Escondido, 4S Ranch, Del Mar and Downtown. My back always hurts, I can lift 50 lbs. Once. I didn't get to the second interview, could not impress upon them that working from home (my last job) and communicating with co-workers through IM constituted customer service experience.

Just skip the UPS experience if you see those jobs being promoted. That's 50 lbs at a crazy shovel rate. It was aerobic. Near death experience.

Look online for a driver shuttler position with Avis. San Diego airport would be a great place for that gig. Make a spec of money, have a lot of free time to do freelance.

I like your cartoon. Good journaling. "My hellish memories of awful job interviews." At least you're getting interviews.

It's interesting that America has cycled so far down the toilet so quickly that the phrase "Jobs Americans won't do" is completely meaningless.

Thanks Ellis. I will look into it. I have an interview with someone about a job at the Del Mar Fair tomorrow. That would be a month, have to find out how awful that might be.
My wife's oldest brother is a Limo driver, her second oldest is also a limo driver after being a cab driver, the next brother is a truck driver, and the one brother younger than she is has been a valet parker for 20 years. I am hesitant about joining her vehicular vortex.

Your extended family's vehicle work all has way too much public interaction. The shuttler job is just you and the lot and garage. Go carts, as I've said in the past.

Oh yeah, and my wife designs roads for Caltrans. All things motor vehicle.

Chrome quit on me when I finished the Avis driving assessment. I did not get my score. When logging back in it says I am all done, and won't let me see the test again. Follow close and slam the brakes!

If everything worked, and they have a need, you will get an email to make a phone call. Final bit of screening. Then you do a pee test, authorize a background check, and you're in.
