I got in!

I got into the ECCC Monsters and Dames book!  Thanks to all the great feedback and useful suggestions I received from all you TAG folks.  I imagine that at least some of the people who buy this book make the rounds trying to get as many artist signatures as possible, so perhaps it will drive some traffic to the table.

Awesome! I got in, too. Very excited!

We will have to fight off the throngs...with thongs.

Sorry I've been M.I.A. I can't believe the COMIC BOOK post is no longer top of the thread. Yikes! That means we better get finished--fasht!

Nice work both you guys. And I saw them first.

Outstanding news, Marty!

I've been a slacker about the comic... my own contribution is coming along but I haven't been pestering others to get on the ball. I'm not sure how many contributors we are going to have when it's all said and done. I may just get folks to hand over drawings/comics and pay for it myself... then people can buy it off of me if they want a copy. I doubt I'm going to get a lot of people investing in it at this point. Maybe I'll do a Lulu thing, so TAG folks can buy and sell them as they like, but i don't need to cough up a bunch of money to pre-print the thing. It's more expensive per unit, but its more likely to actually happen if I do it that way.

I'm planning on asking people to contibute sketches if they don't have a bonified comic story.

Rick! Don't despair! We got stories coming! I'm meeting with Ellis this weekend, and I'm halfway done with one story, and want to do at least one more (because I'm guessing we'll need to fill pages). Also, we got four pages of Thompson's drawings ("The Things Seen..."). It'll be an art explosion!

One thing: what do you think of veering toward a slightly more concentrated monster/horror theme? Nothing too tightly prescriptive, but might help get some work out of people (the way the "Monsters and Dames" theme helped concentrate a contributors mind--and same with Ranjo's recent opus).

What got me thinking this way was mainly how cool your Creeple story looked.

Good idea. Monsters and dames. Ought to focus the mind.

I want to be as inclusive as possible, so the only reason to avoid a theme is so that we don't exclude someone from contributing a drawing because it's not monster or something like that. Otherwise, that's fine with me... a bunch of PopCap artists are putting together another volume of their "Monsterpedia" book this year.
