Bike Sketches

Hello, its been a while.

Here're some drawings of The Randor Par Excellence "Cruisin' USA" Beach Cruiser.

I was attempting a rust texture that turned stubbly.

Spokes are tricky to draw.

Great drawings Ron. Good to see your art again. I could build this bike in 3d based on these drawings. Great detail and style. I like the integration of the date around your spokes on the third one.

Wonderful drawings! Keep 'em coming! Will we seen you at TAG in May?

TAG in May sounds great, Rick, I'm looking forward to it.

I'll post some 3D stuff I did sometime, Ellis.

what's your 3d program? Or are you talking sculpy? How old is that bike?

I'm thinking about the ultimate urban bike. I want it light but not 10 speed light and not mountain bike heavy and chopped off.

Thompson! These bike drawings have blown away my (already lofty) expectations--these are great!! I love 'em!!

The compositions are so unexpected. Love them as a sequence...visually coming to terms with "bike-ness."

Incredible!

(And you tried to sneak them in on a Friday...for shame!)

Keep 'em coming!!

I especially love the chain guard on the first one.

Most of my 3D stuff's in SolidWorks.

Yup, an evasive Friday afternoon news release.

Bike was purchased used around 1989-90 for excursions out from the downtown loft.

Downtown Loft! Sounds cool. Where at in Seattle?

MrGoodson2 said...

Never mind. Downtown covers it.

I think Ron is referring to the loft in downtown...San Diego??

MrGoodson2 said...

OK. Had the bike awhile.

Look at the years Ron posted, dudes. SD it is.

California Bikes This cruiser also has a forward pedaling desigen, meaning the pedals are shifted four inches forward to allow for better leg extension and more open and comfortable seating position.

I approved the semi spam post. I thought it was interesting a subject matter expert found Ron's post via surf means.

Image searching "randor par excellence" gets these drawings as #6 to #8. Is this a perk of web logging in the sphere of mighty G?

Amazing. It just fills up with TAG offerings. And then goes on to really fill up with Davis Chino drawings.
