What a weird car in this one--don't know the precise model--and I have a pretty good knowledge of the cars from that era (looks like a proposal for an indycar/can-am hybrid?)
I think the car itself is a collage. The lower air-intakes and front fenders look McLaren M8A all the way, and the cetral air intake looks like a '67-'68 Coyote Indycar (A.J. Foyt's brand). I'm just sayin'....

You're probably right. Kirby took it and made it his own.
If you google "sloe-eyed" a Marty Davis drawing appears about half way down in google images.
