Gallery Girls - Life Sketching Session

The ambient light is so poor, I just ignore the idea of detail as I draw. It gives me an instant headache to try and focus on close work. But the main flaw that bugs me as I look at all these is the second one down. The see through the man's arm to the girl model shows a comfortabl seated set of hips that doesn't at all mate to the upper girl body hanging over the man's shoulder.

Nice! The guy's pelvis looks great on the 2nd one down. So you're off on the girl--so what?! She's supporting cast!

Like the way the look on the toned paper, too.

Were real swords involved in the making of these drawings?

One sword was a big fake looking HE-Man toy. The more slender one was metal and looked fairly well crafted.
Thanks for the comments. What I really like about this group is location and time. It goes from 10pm till 1am. Located in Little Tokyo, downtown LA.

Ellis, have you fully surrendered to your night-owl instincts?

Interesting contrast to see yr painting (digi?) versus original sketch. The way the drawings "breathe" is so appealing--I think keeping a little of that feeling in the painting might be cool, too.

Verrrry nice!

The digi painting is killing me. I can't get it without snuffing the life out of the sketch
