When I doodle these days I try to make the subject big cats. As I told Marty, I still haven't sat down to the slavish study I need to do. What, about 100 lion drawings before I "get it".

I took Marshall's class on animal anat - it was fantastic and I highly reccommend it.
But it looks like you've already got it on the run.
Nice exploration! Keep 'em coming!! Maybe you should think about buying a tiger or lion skull (replica of course) and sleeping with it under your pillow.
