Because I posted it elsewhere

The Montag family review of Batman V Superman. Procrastinating now by doing something I ought to have done months ago. Slap dash execution using Ellis' make work path trick from a messy ink job.
I should be learning the software used in a job I start next week, but I didn't get where I am today by impressing my bosses with my preparation.

Cool. Did you like the clean up you achieved? I think it is great. Certainly no worse than running a filter.

Good luck with the job.

I adjusted the tolerances a few times to get close to what I want. It opens up opportunities for fixing lines and for bringing the path into Illustrator for greater smoothing (you can cut a path and past into Illustrator, right?).

Yes. You can even fix the lines before you get it out of photoshop with that black and white toggle arrow selection tool for the vector line and nodes. White is for nodes. You can click on the node and change the type of line making. Which you should probably avoid. The curviness probably shouldn't be edited.

Works the same in Illustrator. I get a little confused in Photoshop when using the vectors for masking.

As an aside, I start a new job today. Working from home, not really sure what I am going to do, something about putting together e-learning lessons. Once upon a time, I said to someone what I thought would be a cool job is putting together narrative art using Illustrator. Last weekend I saw an ad in Indeed or ZipRecruiter for just that thing in Santa Monica. Now of course I wasn't prepared to show a portfolio doing that, which is on me, but it does go to show something about what jobs are out there and what you need to do to be ready for them.

Good luck at the job. You make a great point about stepping into the jobs that are out there. I wanted a job at flash doing animation. Instead of jumping on that as a real passion with all sorts of developing pieces being brought along, I just dabbled. I wanted the job for on the job training as much as anything. Now all I want is a smidge of freelance here and there and that seems to occur because I've got examples that sell me.
