As part of my Lentan devotion, I am giving up not posting drawings on the internets. Consider this your Mardi Gras morning-after blast.
Ellis, I'm expecting you to guess all the identities. (p.s. Mitchum wasn't in the movie--I just made him up!) And yes, that's Carmen Miranda's sister, Aurora.

Your scanner works better than mine. These remind me of all the great sketches they show in Walt Disney and El Grupo.
I recognize everyone. Like Charley Ruggles(?) , I just don't know if I could name them.
Great post.
Charlie Ruggles!?!
It's supposed to be Elisha Cook, jr.!
Remember--the hot jazz drummer??
(OK, so my E.C.,jr. is pretty sub-standard....)
The guy under the word"Lady" looks like Elisha. The guy to the left of that looks like Ruggles. But I could see it being Milburn Stone. Doc from Gunsmoke. I've already cheated and looked at IMDB. And been disappointed that it's not on Netflix.
Heh. I see Milburn Stone just supplied a voice. Well. My end of ww2 era actor ID ability sucks.
What can I say. Who is the zoot suit looking guy?
That's a great off the top of your head Mitchum. Just watched Tombstone last night. With that great Mitchum narration beginning and end.
Mitchum--he's one of the greats. He's got a face I carry around in my mental sketchbook.
It's a worthwhile movie because of Gene Tierney and the weird depravity she's forced to go thru. But Franchot Tone--who I couldn't draw for crap, try as I might!--he's a very creepy guy--but would've been better to underplay it--esp'ly with so much inbred creepiness.
And of course he's the villain--he's a sculptor!
Damn, Elisha Cook Jr looks like one of those horror movie possessed ventriloquist dummies. I have to see this movie
Jazz Scene
Now I see the guy I was thinking was Ruggles. I don't know who he was.
