Japanese Quake
Incredible destruction. I pray this isn't going to happen to LA while I live here. My little prefab house would come right off the car jacks supports and crumble like a saltine.
They have other footage with so many bright colored little cars being swept away that it looks like sprinkles on an ice cream cone. Every car is thousands of personal loss.
Man oh man.

The radio just said we are now (8 feet!) closer to Japan.
Coming up in a week we have a "Super full moon." Full moon at closest possible approach to the Earth. It theoretically would aid in creating Quakes.
Amazing video... this is the sight of 10s of 1000s of people who's lives have been saved by the enforcement of proper building codes.
Incredible devastation over there. My in-laws are OK and all my friends over have all been accounted for. I'm really stunned by the unreal destruction I keep seeing. The nuclear power plant radiation leak news is another bit of depressing news. I hope the worst is over there, but I have a feeling the grim news is just beginning.
Ronnie. Glad to hear the in-laws are alright.
Ronnie, ditto on your family--glad they are OK. Very scary stuff.
Because our fault lines in CA are on dry land, the tsunami threat is very low here. Which is somewhat comforting. (despite that, I was outside gauging our home's elevation yesterday!)
Ellis, the million dollar question is, did you buy a Japanese-spec prefab home?
It just gets worse. I really hate the destruction and hardship.
