Elz!! Congrats!! So great that you've finished this. Looks really good--love the first frame on the third page (or fourth?) of the girl striding toward the door.

Love it!

I'm downloading the pod...you're on it, I hope??

Yes. I'm definitely a part of things. I was actually cringing about how much of this would sound.
But that was just self conscious angst. At its most awkward, ( me trying to remember "A Voice In The Night") it still flows pretty well.

Hey Gorham. Who is 'One Shot' He has two comments awaiting moderation. I think he must know you.

I can imagine you listening to this Marty and yelling "Elaine May, cretins."

SPOILER ALERT:

In the podcast, Ellis says:

"SINE-WAVE."

(listening now....)

Davis Chino said...

(JUST SAW YR COMMENTS HERE, ELZ)

It's flowing so far!

Davis Chino said...

---it was a repeat--too impatient on the "PUBLISH YR COMMENT" button.

TO CLARIFY:

Sine-wave usage:

(while discussing Better Call Saul...?)"...sort of the sine-wave of storytelling...."

(I've gone back and scanned first 20 minutes of pod 3 TIMES trying to locate this exact quote and failed--so this is an approximation...somebody correct me, please!)

MrGoodson2 said...

I was referring to the Brother character played by Michael McKean.

If he is all good at one point, it makes sense to have a reveal of being all bad later. Thus, a sine wave, of good to bad.

MrGoodson2 said...

I'm glad you're enjoying it Marty.

Davis Chino said...

Yes! Thank you, Elz--I just could NOT find that quote...coulda had something to do with it being almost 10 o'clock on a day when I worked straight thru from 7:00...(I am hurting...).

THe Elaine May contortions were funny--not least 'cuz I didn't know she directed Ishtar. (can that movie really be that bad?)

Lots of laffs in the pod, almost always from you.

I will say I was on the edge of my seat each time someone asked, "Have you read anything cool, lately?"...but nobody mentioned FUME.

Insert frowny face HERE.

The comic is looking great... very polished. I can only see up to episode 60 on Downcast (my podcast app)... I guess it will get posted eventually? Otherwise I'll have to listen to it at home over the weekend. I really liked the last one you were on, although I think they could have spent less time recapping stories that they like and just keep the discussion to why they like it. You where great and I would love to hear you talk more!

MrGoodson2 said...

I should have given you a shout out Marty. What was I thinking.

Thanks Rick. I think I started low energy and they were aware of that. Tried to pump it up early. I'd be horrible at drive time radio. Start out all mopey and cause wrecks.

Thanks for posting Ellis. As always, inspirational! Remind me again what this character is all about. And it's meant to be a completely silent comic? And do I have the story right? Some old biker remembering his late wife, and Ms. Valkyrie is for hire. Old guy's secretary(?) daughter(?)hires her, she dresses up like old guy's wife, engages in S&M and kills him (accidentally? on purpose?) Old guy goes to biker heaven and is re-united with wife and old friends. Is that about it? Am I missing any of the hidden points?

You got it Tom. I guess it gets word balloons last. Ms Valkyrie is a caring euthanasia specialist. The totalitarian Govt wants hurry-up euthanasia, so she;s a rebel in a world where the streets are being taken over by anarchy.

The writer is crowd funding another comic project. The one I did a couple of pages - the Cook who is related to Leonardo DaVinci.
He has another team set up for that.

He might crowd fund Ms Valkyrie. Then I'd have to go into a thoughtful mode. Do I want the money to do the comic? Yes.

Do I really really want to do the comic? Not really.

But if it was work for 6 months until I get social security and it made more than Avis, I'd quit Avis.

There is no up side to working at Avis. No benefits. Super low money. Just wear and tear on the car to get there.

The coloring really adds so much life to it. It's one of the most fun parts, don't you think? Will you be adding in the word balloons after that?

MrGoodson2 said...

Tom. Thanks.

Word balloons. I haven't been asked. I could. But, really want to put it to bad.

Hopefully the writer is happy with the color. I'm never happy because I feel like I don't get it. I'm missing too many parts to do it well.

Missing parts?

Oh, I get it. Hey, did you ever get to try out those corrective glasses to see how they worked?

MrGoodson2 said...

No. But I'm on their list for when they produce the glasses untinted. They should notify me. But I am forewarned, based on the online testing, I'm probably too deficient to correct.

Made some changes. The RIP wife now has read hair and so does Ms Valkyrie via wig. Couple of other shots she has her own yellow blonde hair.

Couple of minor edits. The coloration of the old guy as he dies for instance.

But I'm done now. His last email said he'd be sending more pages. If it is on Ms Valyrie or not, I don't know.

The guy is great.

My timely completion bonus is also going to be made shortly. Something like 20 a page.
