To fix this very bad statue of Lucille Ball in the town of Celoron, New York!

Also, here is a self-promotional piece of a friend of mine, Paul Turnbaugh. He and I went to art school together and lifted weights together. His favorite super-hero was the Hulk. Paul was (is) monstrously, preternaturally, STRONG, one of those guys who could leg press a thousand pounds. And his artwork is beautiful. He does a lot of nature paintings - Robert Bateman-esque. Check out his work at his "Wild Heartland" Facebook page

I saw all the hoopla over this. What an ABOMINATION! Looks more like Alfred E. Neuman than Lucy.
I saw this too--was just talking to a friend about doing a live sculpture workshop online for his teaching community...I suggested we do a Lucy!
Wow. So off the mark.
Were you lifting with this artist when you hurt your back back in the 90s, Tom?
How is the back?
No, Paul and I lifted together back in the seventies when we were both in the Bay Area. My back is very good these days, though I have to be ever-vigilant about stressing it too much or in the wrong way.
That Lucy is just a sculptor that has a ways to go on everything. Clothing folds are bad. The hands- bad. Just needs more practice at injecting life into sculpture.
And of course zero likeness. Might as well be Lucy's friend Ethel.
