It's funny because I had heard about quicktime's new screen/video capture. So right off the bat I bought quicktime pro for the new computer.
The video capture is not part of Pro, It came with the regular utility app of quicktime.
Pretty dang cool.
Now if I only had photoshop on the new box.
Don't press buttons.
Go to the link on youtube.

Qusetion for Tom. Since I know he reads the comments. Photoshop elements. How close is it to photoshop?
Photoshop Elements gives me 99% of the functions that I really need from regular Photoshop. There are a couple of things I wish it had like an airbrush tool that I can set to splatter, or a random cloud generator function, but I just use workarounds. I have Elements 9 and they are up to Version 13 now, so for all I know they have added these features since I bought mine. In a way it's nice to not have a million fancy features in the menu. Less confusing that way. I think you can use a trial version for free to see if it meets all your needs.
I think I'll buy it. I need something familiar. Even if I can't draw with it on screen. I'll draw with Manga Studio for my tutorials. Part of my tutorials would have involved photoshop tips and tricks.
I'll do the trial version first. Thanks Tom.
Looks like it has a brush tool. I've been messing with art rage. If I get really comfortable with it, maybe I could use it for my drawing lesson notions. The flat roller Brush would probably be my go-to tool when i work in Art Rage
Having a ton of fun with the new computer. This is a link to my latest iMovie knowledge acquisition. I may want a new youtube account so that it’s got more product identity. I’ve got everything I need to make tutorials. I’ve also decided to buy Photoshop Elements. Someone said the brushes are great in Elements. That’s 90 percent of what I want. BUT- no pen tool. I hate that but I’ll live.
Elz--thanks for thinking of me. Sorry I've been out of touch--been on the road away from the computer a lot, and I find these sorts of things hard to pursue properly while working with the phone....I'll get caught up here ASAP!
Word to the auteur behind "The Hobo's Bindle"!!
Tom, I got a book on Elements 13. It looks like it has everything I want. I'll wait until I have some more freelance money and buy it.
I need to also invest in a wacom intuos tablet. Those cost about 2/3rds what i paid for the computer. The old monoprice tablet just doesn't cut it. I want the little cintiq dedicated to the iMac. I need to be very comfortable drawing during the tutorials. So I need a good tablet.
I ordered Elements. Fooey on waiting. I'll make the monoprice tablet work until I can't stand it no more and get the wacom.
