Some Gellyroll Scribbles

Took a Sharpie and started playing around. Out of 4 Gellyroll whites I had, only got one to work

Did you have a lot of old ones you'd bought previous? That may be a shelf life warning to me. Never buy more than 3 at once. I have 6. Gave one away today. First one out of the pack works great.

Nice work on the scroll designs.

I also made an additional post and comment on my gelly roll thread. These can't be used over the top of anything that picks up. I tried them over cartoon color. Nope. The pigment gunks up the ballpoint. And the marker ink has to be dry. Markers usually dry almost instantly, but you can get a saturated spot with amrkers that dries slow. Anything it picks up, gunks it up.

The small ones were done in a Black Sharpie. The larger one was a Brush Pen. Sharpie works PERFECT. No gunk up....everything else so far. Gunk up.

Probably slightly soluble pigment in the brush pen. I'm using really cheap brush pens that are actually mushy tipped flairs, no bristle, called LePen. They go over that pigment great. So trial and error required. Or wet your finger and se if you can get a wash out of any mark you make with a marker.
What else.
Ball points ship a lot of times with a dab of glue on the tip to keep them safe from evaporation. Make sure that is off.

obviously the big head on the right gave you a lot of trouble

Yes it did. Very messy

These are really cool. I gotta get me one of these pens to play with.
