I'm absolutely blown away by the treasure trove of recent posts here (you guys truly ROCK), but I now have the enviable position of trying to light a fire under your collective butts. Not for my own diabolical "ends", but for those of SD Comic Fest.
1. AA: YES or NO?
If any of you who participated in Artist Alley 2012 or 2013 want to do so again this year, I need immediate confirmation! Just reply here or at bc@grafikus.com so I can reserve your spot. You can do registration and the form later ... but if I don't hear from you by tomorrow midnight, I must start accepting names from the waiting list. Thus far, Eric and Buncake are the only returning TAGsters ... they'll each be getting TWO full Fest passes (in addition to their Alley spot) for a mere $25 TOTAL.
2. Badge Art
At yesterday's Fest planning meeting, we learned that Ben's T-shirt design was a "go" (YAY, Ben!) ... but shocked to learn that not a single design was submitted for the badges! :O
If Rock doesn't get some artwork soon, he'll resort to doing the badges himself again ... and believe me, nobody wants that. If you'd like to submit a design, please refer to Ben's earlier post for the specs ...

The Bill Mumy and Rod Serling were simply wonderful! The latter would be especially well-received, since the Café tribute this year is the Twilight Zone. For more ideas, see Ben's post as well as the Fest's special guests page (alas, no Mumy) ...

I didn't realize how late it was when I posted this, so the deadline "tomorrow" is really today (Tuesday, June 3).
I'll whip out a badge today
Here's my badge. I did the layout using Ben's example badge on a layer. Should be perfectly scalable Hulk and Batman
WOW ... that was quick, Ellis!
You're the real superhero in this drawing. THANK YOU!
It warms my heart to know that even if you can't be here in person, at least your awesome artwork will be ... and we'll be forced to think of you when we look at attendees. HA!
Quite a diabolical plan, I must say. ;)
No con for me, I think. Thanks for the invite, though.
No con for me either, thanks Beata.
Logistically, I can't be at Artist Alley. I would be if I could. I dig that hotel. Of course if it blows up in attendance this year you may be kicked out of that Hotel.
I wish I could come back to San Diego and live in that hotel. Storage space off site. Laptop and sketchbook and regular visits to the library. And being in San Diego. Paradise.
I won't be here either for the Con. Maybe next year
And don'tcha miss the good ol' days of rasslin' on a big piece o' cardboard on a patch of lawn Ellis?

Beata,
Are you sending Ellis's drawing to Rock?
The T-shirt has not been final approved. That's still up to the final approver. We also are not sure whether the printer can handle tints and gradients of spot colors on a black shirt. Anybody know anything about T-shirt printing on black shirts?
Yes Tom
OK, Ben, I'll send Ellis's badge art to Rock.
Send in your Rod Serling!
Thanks for sending the image to Rock. I had to write him twice about the T-shirt already. Everyone else doing a badge can send it to me. The email for that is on the old post. Just post here to let me know to check.
Also on the badges, a small bio to go along would probably be useful. The badge man mentioned something about the program book.
Marty is now onboard the AA train ...
WOO-HOO!
