This is the result of a test I did at work of a new animation tool called Spine. It's 2D animation with a skeletal rig. It's the perfect tool for someone who has done a bunch of 3D animation to do come to 2D cut outs style animation. It's pretty simple and intuitive and our programmers seem confident that they won't have much trouble getting it into a game (it's what the tool was made to do, after all).

Sorry, I don't see any way to make it loop automatically through blogger. I suppose you can load it onto your hard drive and loop it with your player.

I really like that. It would be the puppet tool in After Effects. But this just sp[ecifically for doing this vectorman style animation.
Not realy though. No replacements. Just differnet transforms of the same pieces always visible.
Probably Does bring pieces forward in the plane.
Very cool. Another thing I can claim I'd be good at.
Thanks for the link. Google search throws up an old kickstarter campaign as the first choice.
Actually, I think you can swap pieces. I haven't tried that yet, but I'm pretty sure it's possible. They had a nice little video for beginners to look at.
They have lots of tutorial video on the website. Very smart. Little personal app development is not going anywhere. Smart to develop a killer animation app for the market. Like - Deluxe Animator for the 21st Century!
When I was out of work I tried to set up an animation sample using Flash and failed miserably. There's no way I could do even a simple rig like this. I could give a crap about inverse kinematics... I just want a simple rig that when I move the thigh the shin goes with it.
I spent 3 days working on that stupid anim with nothing to show for it but a whole lot of frustration.
Weird. I always liked Flash animation. I would have assumed you'd be nuts for it.
I imagine the Toon-Boom people will compete with this app go for this market.
Nice! Very fun--I like that the eye is treated like a Muppet-style rattle-ball, with iris/pupil bouncing to movement.
