Transcription-Page 90-Finish on Thursday
Whew. Glad this task is coming to an end. I don't like marathon sessions of typing. When I finish tomorrow, I'll have 106 pages in a continuous rtf document. Any recommendations for the next processor to drop it into for corrections and e-book formatting. Some of you guys have probably researched this. Comment is the last page I typed. You know what, I still don't remember how it ends. I'm going to celebrate when this is done with a drawing or two.

Rodney nervously drummed his fingers on the card table

and looked away from Mr. Steel's hard eyes.
"Do you believe he was a witch?"
"No. Like I said, I think he believed it." Rodney locked looks with Minney again.
"Were you visiting Ashcraft when he drugged you?"
"No, I didn't know that freak. Brad Steerman worked for him. I think Ashcraft did something to Brad that made him unstable. He attacked me when I came by his apartment to get my clothes, right after the hail storm. I was leaving to stay with Shelly, I couldn't take his friends. The bastard nearly choked me to death and the next thing I knew, I was in a burning house."
Minney scratched his ear. He didn't believe Rodney was telling him the complete truth in spite of the burn in his knit shirt and the bruises around his neck.
"Miss Schaffner said that detective Pierce had to shoot Brad Steerman. Did you know that?"
"Yeah, she told me on the way here. Brad had just come apart at the seams. He was crazy strong, though, real schizo like Ashcraft controlled him or something."
"You didn't hear the shot, though?"
"No, I was still out of it."
"Both you and Miss Schaffner have said there were at least three people left in that burning house." Minney watched Rodney nod yes, then asked, "Any ideas why there weren't any bodies found in the house?"

Starting late. Not entering late. That would be good.
Three pages away. My existentialist ending sucks. That will have to be changed.
I'm done. Just as I fight the first cold I've caught in 4 years. The last page...
The grin disappeared

from Rodney's face.
"Be cool, I'm leaving." Rodney backed away. The shotgun pursued him. The man holding the gun was silent.
"Look, I was going to ask you to call the police, but someone has already done that." The man with the shotgun seemed to be listening to something far away, completely ignoring Rodney's explanation. "What do you want, anyway?" Rodney asked, panic giving the question a pleading sound.
"Carnivean needs blood to leave here." The man spoke like a machine, with no emphasis or accent. The gibberish statement meant no more to him than it did to Rodney. Both barrels of the shotgun thundered fire and blew Rodney backwards in two major pieces.
THE END
