BBB Dummy Master09
Here is the latest and greatest version ... Especially note Rick Schmitz's great work between the Introduction and Foreword; really nice. Oh, and now the book actually comes up in book form on Scribd so you just arrow press through the pages like it is a book ... I have a list of cookbook editors and will also be social networking and tweeting a lot about this this week. Publishers, here I come ...

Great presentation Tom. Love the new "Impy" page Rick. Wish we could see more of this comic.
Tom and I worked on that idea a few years back.
Now that I think of it, that was about 5 years ago... the page was a more recent effort, though, about a year and a half ago.
This is a great idea Tom. Looks good. It could make quite a splash if people are aware of it. Are you going to have it as a Diamond catalog item?
Thanks for the compliments. My plan, Ellis, is to go to traditional brick & mortar publishers first, by using links off of the Internet that I found and by stopping off at the bookstore on the way home and copying down a bunch of publishers from the cookbook section. I will contact 'em all, while at the same time making sure that publishers within the industry know it is out there, too. But this is going to be "barrage week" where I spend 2 - 3 hours a night sending out my pitch letter with a link to the dummy section, then follow up aggressively with companies that I think the book would be right for. In the end it will probably be about 250 pages and about 110 recipes, so not a small book by any means. ;-)
The book looks good so far. I liked Rick's "Stop in the name of..." but are you sure you want "Branded by Dessert" in a book about food?
This is a publisher's dummy, so some of the content may / will change because of discussions with a publisher. If it was up to me, I would put it in because ... um, because I could (I think the fact that the dialog goes so against the grain of the action is, well, delicious). And I would simply because it's a cookbook from and by comic book people. Horror comics are one of the biggest genres these days.
Just mho.
Tom, I just saw this today (Sunday, 8/30) and haven't yet read through all the recipe pages in the preview. But I did notice one thing:
On p.5, in the second to the last sentence of the Introduction, there's a superfluous "here" ... one of which will need to be deleted.
The double parentheses near the end of your Foreword still bothers me, but I expect your Editor will have something to say about that. Wait, ... are you your own Editor?
I think the book looks great. LOVE your veggie-pushing page, Rick!
