Came out decent. Couple of cool sound additions.
I was going to be the voice on the other end of the line. And I couldn't pull it off to my satisfaction. I think it plays better with just Scott's voice.
It shouldn't be possible. I just watched a 1948 movie with dinosaurs and a Sloth the size of King Kong that I knew nothing about. With good actors.
Lot of it shot in Corriganville -which I've jogged through enough to have every oak tree and boulder memorized.
Ray Crash Corrigan played the Sloth.

I think it needs the benefit of an audible voice on the other end of the line as I don't think Scott's lines clue in the audience enough as to what he's trying to do.
The first time I watched your rough cut, I didn't know that Scott had found a lost phone, because the location of the phone didn't look lost, it looked deliberately placed like those "Mission Impossible" tape recorders, and Scott was picking up a secret message.
At the end I didn't know that the mysterious caller was calling Scott's private phone because the ringtone was exactly the same. When Scott says, "How'd you get this number?" it could be interpreted as someone completely new calling on the lost phone, like if Scott's wife was trying to call the stranger on the found phone and Scott was asking his wife, "How'd you get this number?"
Good notes. The ring tone I thought should be the same because Scott first believes it to be the guy he thinks he is meeting.
I'm mainly proud of digging in and making the length bearable. You start out thinking you need whole shots to link this and that. Nah, cut it up.
Marty made comments it needed less cross dissolve. The convention of cross dissolve that time has passed is what I'm after to forgive abrupt cutting.

I started laughing out loud and doubling over at Zorro's Hot Mask! Who are the other people in the film besides Scott? Was that Beata?
Yes. That was Beata. Doing a great job as a Countess type. Jeff Ranjo is at the very end. Jim Gorham and Ron Thompson are the ambushers.
We were at Vasquez Rocks. Fighting right in the same spot as Jame Kirk and the Gorn.
I was using some sort of software that came with the ATI capture board. A lot like iMovie. With lots of wipes and other effects.
Scott Benefiel should put this in his acting reel. He might get some work.

You should at least give us a little of yourself on screen--you are pure entertainment all by yrself!
It's just an idea improved along and edited together. Definitely entertainment light. I need to really hammer story first. Do a decent short-short story to begin with. I'll do some of those lists as Tom suggested. See what I have as a resource that might get woven into a film idea.
Use some of your toys, like tanks, jet planes, rockets and monsters for special effects!
Toys? I got no toys. Hackey sacks I don't use any more. I have a couple of plastic horses I spraypainted beige so I could easily draw the forms.
I've scanned the whole room. No toys. I just now realized this. Glad you brought it up. Wouldn't take much work at a thrift store to get some cheesy toys for FX work.
I have books (much much less than I used to have), movies and art supplies. And the computer. That's the toy.
There may be a shoebox with some toys. Let me look and inventory. See what I thought was important enough to make the move.
Shoebox had 3 lion models for ref.I need to spraypaint them too. It helps when you're studying them. Turns them into casts.
One 4 inch high model of Iron Giant.
3 silicone molds. One of the Billikin Kong head. One of Ranjo's T Rex freezer magnet, one ofthe mini asaro head.
And my old California license tag.
Not in the shoebox, a 12 inch skeleton I dipped in latex way back in blue sky days. I know it dates back to blue sky because the latex was given to me by Rob Quenca. Dyed black so he could make a wolverine costume from a lifecast. The lates is nicely rotted. A pretty horrific image. I'll take a shot of it and post it later.
