Time to dump "Groceries"
Buncake's artwork has enjoyed well over a year of basking in the yellow-orange glow of SD Comic Fest's website. It's high time to replace it … and here's the image I've submitted to Mike Towry for that purpose.
I hope you all notice Marty's artwork in there. He and Eric are the only ones from our old TAG group who have signed on for Artist Alley at the next Fest (Feb 12-15, 2016). That's Presidents' Day weekend, as well as Valentine's Day. A great time to plan a sweetheart of a trip to San Diego just before the Town & Country Hotel's east side gets totally demolished.
As of today, applications are being accepted from the general public for the half-dozen or so spots still unclaimed in the Alley. Priority will be given to previous participants, but there are already quite a few people waiting in the wings. If any of you are interested in getting in, you need to tell me right away; otherwise, you don't have a prayer.

I love the new submission with Marty's artwork. You have chosen a nice variety of styles to represent the Fest. Of course if it had Eric's artwork it would be even better! I'm looking at the website now and I don't see Scott's artwork, only Scott Shaw's logo. Where is it?
Shame they plan to demolish any of that Hotel. That was a perfect spot. You guys outdid yourselves with that Hotel as the Con location.
Tom, Scott Shaw's logo is at the top of every SDCF page, but OUR Scott's Groceries is still visible on the Artist Alley page (at least until Mike gets around to updating it). This post's title is a direct link.
Many factors determined why I chose these particular images (and why I discarded many excellent others); but it ultimately boiled down to who might benefit most from the plug. I want to give a boost to the underrepresented and a couple of newcomers.
I agree about the hotel, Ellis. :(
The new owners have no clue how much the quality of quaintness is loved and appreciated.
Mike just updated the webpage – partially.
He replaced the image, but nothing else yet.
I see I was too late to see Scott's old image, but I know which one it was now, the Halloween one.
Yes, Tom.
One of my all-time favorites.
Very cool that there is such high demand now for spots at your Con Beata. Great work building it.
One of my favorites too. I wish Scott would put out a book of his collected works.
I'm not sure I'm aware of the Buncake art being discussed. I'd like to see it.

It's under the "Illustration" group, second row, far right. The witches scaring the kids.
Thanks Tom. That is a great piece. Gahan Wilson funny.
