Great! Love the groupies. Sell it to Keith , not Mick. Mick is supposedly tighter with money. I liked your quote from Altamont ( or does he say it in each concert) “Charlie’s good tonight, i'nt he?”
Record it at a few more steps. Great WIP documentation thus far. Would make a great multi step post on Tumblr.
I like the monochrome groupie behind Mick. Is that a typical way to work. Have the figure me a strong single color and then add- paint into it? Will she get highlights or is her lightest light already been done?
Dudes! You guys are too kind! Didn't expect anyone to see this so quickly on a quiet Thursday night...
I did this to show a car magazine--but it's only a test piece. I'm both trying to sell them on an approach to an interview series they're starting, and searching for a style. This isn't it. Too elaborate. I think this has good points as an attempt at a full-on illustration (and some not-so-good points--that "skyline"), but I'm trying for a simpler, sketchy style...something "evocative." That's what I was going for--but once I go to color, things quickly get out of hand!
And Elz, to answer yr question, no, I wasn't planning to do more with the background girls--I want them to be very background, so no highlights will be added...in fact, I want Mick and Keef to look more like them! tho' I don't like their facial "types"... generic Mad Magazine. I want to capture glam chicks of that era...must do better.
Marty, it would a great vehicle for artistic expression. Maybe it could be an auto-biography. You can't a-Ford to miss this chance to get the wreck-ignition you deserve.
Actually, I wasn't making a pun.. there used to be a magazine called CARtoons that featured all sort of cartoons about cars. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=cartoons+magazine+artwork&qpvt=Cartoons+Magazine+Artwork&qpvt=Cartoons+Magazine+Artwork&FORM=IGRE
CARtoons were alright. But Drag Cartoons was better. Pete Millar I called Pete Millar and had a talk with him about how much I enjoyed those CDs. He was a very cool guy. Talked quite a bit. Some Wonder Wart Hog discussion. I think he died about 3 weeks after i talked to him. He sounded like a young man on the phone.

Wow! Is this another illustration for that car magazine? They will be blown away!
Cars and Rock Stars... I think you've found your niche!
Fun stuff as always!

But I am glad you guys dug it!
I think it's grand! Perhaps you can sell them on the idea of a full page comic each month! CarTOONS!
Great idea Rick. I agree!

I agree , Rick has a great idea.

Dudes, you have me cracking up. Tom with the puns, even...oy!
Yes, Rick, we want to do a big horror anthology book with all of us contributing--I will post something more formal SOON!
Thanks for putting the Autoweek link up, Elz!
