Work has been slow on this one. Well actually, I've gotten pretty far considering how little time I've been able to put into it. The deadline is looming, so I need to get this back on track. My only real concern is that the central figure actually appears to be female. Is it clear enough?

Make the eye go to her and not around her. She has some things competing with her. Mainly the hand railing of the back stair case. The line work is really deft. I like the line on the dragon mural.
It might be easier to pull off a variety of line weight by making all the back element bigger- a separate pass- that you reduce when you put it back into the foreground. Make those lines less "important" thickness.
This is looking great! Such a rich scene. Love the silhouettes in the back.
If you're worried she's not femme enuff, why not put a little more swerve in her pose? And I agree with Elz, there is a lot going on around her...but it's all good stuff! You can pop her when you color it all, right? Give her the fuchsia and chrome yellow jumper....
Love it.....Your inking style amazes me every time. I need to work on on my inking
My ability to post has been off and on lately. Just got home from a trip out of town, plus our internet has been out at home. It seems to have spontaneously started working again. Hopefully it will stay up. Great to see all the great stuff that has been put up lately.
I'm sitting here with the little original color Creeple comic you did back in 2005. (Love having a copy!) Back then I remember mistaking Dr. Occular for a young man, but you have lengthened her hairdo since then and now I think it's pretty easy to tell she's female.
Love all the background detail, especially those silhouetted figures.
Thanks Tom! That's what I needed to know. I've increased her hips a bit more since I shared this so hopefully it's even more evident. Under other circumstances I wouldn't care so much, but this is for the Monsters and Dames book, so I need a dame in there!
This is meant to be a dense image, with a lot going on, but I do want Occular to be the focal point on the image. Color and value with be my main tool to make that happen.
