25 great Joe Kubert Covers
Who died today. I'm sure you all know.
Actually not too wild about the covers they picked. He did better on almost any Sgt Rock you could pick. Testimonial has been a little Sgt Rock heavy. I've noticed people trying to get that unskewed. For me he was Hawkman and Sgt Rock.

Who's still alive from the "old" silver age. By that I mean people whose careers peaked during the silver age, but whose roots were in the golden age of the late thirties, forties and early fifties. A quick look at Wikipedia shows that Carmine Infantino, Murphy Anderson, Steve Ditko, and Marie Severin are still alive. Who else?
That's probably a good list. Maybe a couple of guys that were ECers that had very little Silver Age. Mort Drucker. Nobody really active.
Sam Glanzman made a few comics and he's still alive. I checked the wiki for Silver Age. And they I D some whipper snappers as Silver Age because they get their foot in the door at the end. Neal Adams and Steranko. Not what we're talking about. Just about all dead.
Defnitely think of Hawkman when I think Joe Kubert. And Sgt. Rock. He is synonymous with those two characters, for me.
John Romita Sr. and Larry Lieber are still alive too.
I love the covers he did for the DC digests, some oddball sci-fi and horror things. And, of course, Tor, Tarzan, and the Viking Prince.
