My family went to the Highland Games in Pleasanton this weekend. These sketches are some of the folks I remember seeing there. It was sort of like comic con... a whole lot of folks wearing outfits that they wouldn't be caught dead in any other time.
We also saw Tom M. and Patty this weekend! We had a great visit! Next we will be seeing Ronnie in Oct! Whoo Hoo!

One thing I noticed at the Con this year, lots of kilt wearing. It was really the year of the man dress.Your drawing made me remember that detail. Nice sketch. I've been rearranging furniture instead of sketching. I need to get back to it.
Rick! You went to the Pleasanton Games?! Wow! That is one of the biggest Highland Games competitions in the country (maybe the biggest). I am actually interested in competing in the games. Lots of cross-over from the Olympic lifts which I currently train. There is a guy, Dan John, who has a great free e-zine about lifting and throwing called "Get Up." He competes at Pleasanton every year.
Yeah, I even got some video of some log tossing... even the ladies compete these days! Pretty neat stuff, and you don't need to know a lot about the events to understand them!
Ha! Like the ATM guy. Anacronistic humor always slays me!
Are the sketches cintiq in origin?
Nope... good olf fashioned Wacom tablet.
