I bought this 1957 used copy of Arthur C. Clarke's "The City and the Stars". I remember reading it in high school or college and always wanted to get hold of a copy to re-read. The illustrator of the cover is not given credit. Anyone know who the artist is? Love these old style covers.

Says that Richard Powers did two covers and the obe you have is by Unknown. But it wouldn't surprise me if it was also Powers.
Powers was what I was going to say off the top of my head.
ReplyDeleteTom...I love your sketch. That is the coolest...the linework the poses and expressions. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention the sketch, which is great. But is this something you do when you plan on using a character sequentially in comics. Draw the character in a bunch of scenes how you visualize he would pose and then paste it in later. That's disembodied genius if you can do that. I guess you could let the pose dictate some of how the shot would look.
ReplyDeleteThe water is amazing. Beginning to get choppy in the second panel.
ReplyDeleteGood eye Ben.
ReplyDeleteOch! I can't believe I failed to comment on how great these are. Always so fab to see anything from the Hand of Moon.
ReplyDeleteFabulous!
