Interesting. I noticed another youtube video in my collection. Mentioning an art trip to the fiargrounds. Sure enough, a life drawing session, my last, almost exactly a year ago. No wonder I can't draw. Extreme atrophy.</a>MrGoodson2https://www.blogger.com/profile/02329640961760572269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18751429.post-61983476008550241522014-10-08T17:32:33.952-07:002014-10-08T17:32:33.952-07:00Do you find you're the only one using pencil? ...Do you find you're the only one using pencil? In the life drawing I go to, no one uses straight graphite. I've stopped and am moving to watercolor.BDMontaghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10668132947298479801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18751429.post-50419016341655473712014-10-08T07:32:34.229-07:002014-10-08T07:32:34.229-07:00I think you're right Tom. It's tough to sit there and absolutely suck for an entire hour. I need to do studies off the computer or TV and keep my eyes and hand trained. A lot of it is scale. I was trying to draw big skulls and couldn't. Every skull I had drawn for 6 months was no bigger than a quarter. Now I was drawing saucer plates. It wouldn't click.MrGoodson2https://www.blogger.com/profile/02329640961760572269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18751429.post-66841732465759872712014-10-08T07:08:35.924-07:002014-10-08T07:08:35.924-07:00It's beautiful Ellis. Just use Photoshop to clean up and play with contrast and color!Tom Moonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11624247648988106639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18751429.post-87936471103402843182014-10-07T21:18:41.808-07:002014-10-07T21:18:41.808-07:00Love it! And there's something very cool about the rectangular cast shadow (?) on the front of her dress...or maybe it's an apron? The way you fade the edges...probably comes from yr urgency to get in as much of the figure as possible--but it reads with a subtle veracity that's tuff to capture. Nice!!Davis Chinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16168954208679712542noreply@blogger.com
