My Class Painting
Still lots of work to do but it wasn't easy. No base drawing just blocking from a photo. It's got problems but it gave me a chance to use oils after 30 years.
Jim, your palette here is quite marvelous ... looking forward to seeing the finished piece! I hope she doesn't lose the "glow" I see emanating from her at this stage.
Great!
ReplyDeleteNice job. Did you get some useful feedback and advice from the instructor?
ReplyDeleteYeah, this is still unfinished but I wanted to show the progress
ReplyDeletePretty dang good. Just really internalize that planes of the head and do the edges. Lost-hard and soft (in the right places)
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's really coming along!
ReplyDeleteI esply like the ruffled portion of the scarf that is obscuring her neck/chest. Very nice feel! And nice color, too!
Yup... this is a strong piece. Nice work, Jim!
ReplyDeleteHas Andrea passed on any helpful instruction or insights?
ReplyDeleteNot at this point. Only at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteThanks All!
ReplyDeletedo a flip on it and see if you still like it
ReplyDeleteAlready did that

ReplyDeleteI'm VERY glad you're painting again. :)
So when you flipped it, did you see anything that you said, must physically alter that?
ReplyDeleteI like Beata's comments. and agree.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there is some stuff I need to fix and yes......I like the glow and need to keep it
