Mostly sketches. Occasionally a painting. Nothing political other than caricatures reinforcing the truism "Politics is Show Business for Ugly People".

Me and the REAL Godzilla
The Man WHO IS Godzilla. (1954-1973) The LEGEND Haruo Nakajima. Best suit actor in the long history of the franchise who played Godzilla during the CLASSIC Showa era. At Monsterpalooza 2014 in Burbank this weekend.
He was the Green Gargantua "Gaira". He was also The first Rodan, Baragon from Frankenstein Conquers the World, One of the Mushroom People, Varan, and King Kong in King Kong Escapes
Just so crowded Rick. Lots of the Japanese guest they get are up there in age and you just don't know how much longer they will be around. So I have to make the trip. But the crowds are really starting to bug me at any big Con these days. Just no room to move comfortably any more. Lines to see the simplest things are also a major annoyance. With ECCC now selling out it's all a mess. Just how bad you want to go I guess.
Tickets for ECCC are still sold the old fashioned way... online sales plus sales in local comic shops. The comic shop thing was a little clunky: You go and buy a ticket, but you need to return and turn in your ticket it to get your badge. The nice part is that you don't need to stand in line at the con to get your badge and you don't have to worry about UPS losing your badge on the way to your mailbox.
Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI saw someone else post a shot of themselves with him and I thought, Jim would like to do that.
Well at 85 years of age. Had to go see him.
ReplyDeleteSaw Russ Tamblyn and Kenji Sahara (from War of the Gargantuas)too.
ReplyDeleteI had this incredibly amusing thing to say about a War of The Gargantuas RTed Tumblr post
ReplyDeleteNick Adams didn't make it?
Was the Godzilla gent a Gargantua?
